Position Summary
The Director of Emerging Technology will lead Bloom Healthcare’s efforts to evaluate, prioritize, and operationalize emerging technology solutions that improve organizational efficiency, clinical operations, employee experience, and patient care. This role will focus heavily on artificial intelligence, automation, digital workflow improvement, and strategic technology adoption.This position is responsible for translating emerging technology opportunities into practical, secure, compliant, and high-value solutions for Bloom. The Director will work closely with Technology, Operations, Clinical, Data, and Executive Leadership to identify business needs, assess potential solutions, guide implementation, and support adoption across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strong product and technology leader who can balance innovation with structure, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Bloom’s emerging technology strategy, with an initial focus on product development, artificial intelligence, automation, and workflow optimization.
- Partner with executive and departmental leaders to identify high-value use cases for AI and emerging technologies.
- Own product roadmap planning, prioritization, and UI/UX direction for emerging technology initiatives, while collaborating closely with the development team to ensure timely and effective delivery.
- Develop a practical framework for evaluating emerging technology opportunities, including business value, workflow impact, cost, implementation effort, compliance risk, data security, and adoption readiness.
- Lead discovery and requirements-gathering efforts for emerging technology initiatives, ensuring clear business problems, success criteria, and implementation scope are defined before solutions are selected.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams to determine whether needs are best addressed through internal development, vendor tools, automation, analytics, or workflow redesign.
- Support the roadmap for AI-enabled and automation-enabled capabilities within Bloom’s internal systems.
- Partner with department leaders to measure outcomes from implemented solutions, including time savings, quality improvement, cost avoidance, user satisfaction, and operational impact.
- Maintain awareness of healthcare technology trends, AI capabilities, automation tools, and regulatory developments that may affect Bloom’s technology strategy.
- Mentor product managers, analysts, and technology team members on structured discovery, emerging technology evaluation, stakeholder management, and adoption planning.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Product Management, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, technology implementation, healthcare operations, digital transformation, or a related field.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, clinical teams, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of product management practices, including discovery, requirements gathering, prioritization, roadmap planning, user feedback, and adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate technology solutions based on business value, operational impact, cost, risk, and implementation feasibility.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, analytics, workflow tools, or emerging digital health solutions preferred.
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred, especially in value-based care, clinical operations, population health, or provider-facing workflows.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technology concepts in clear, practical language.
- Strong judgment around compliance, data privacy, security, and responsible technology adoption.
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity, create structure, and drive initiatives from concept to implementation.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with stakeholders across departments.
- Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to lead meetings, gather input, resolve competing priorities, and drive decisions.
- Experience mentoring or developing team members preferred.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $140,000 to $170,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
