Position Summary
The HR Generalist is a highly operational, detail-driven HR professional responsible for ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy, and administrative excellence across the employee lifecycle. This role supports risk mitigation and regulatory readiness through strong ownership of personnel file management, licensure/certification tracking, LMS administration, onboarding execution, and employee relations documentation.
This position is hands-on and process-oriented, partnering closely with leaders and internal teams (Recruiting, Credentialing, Payroll, Compliance, and Training) to ensure employees are properly cleared, licensed, trained, onboarded, and supported in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The total compensation pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $90,000 - $110,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Core Responsibilities
Compliance, Licensure & Employee File Management (Primary Focus)
- Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready personnel files in compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements
- Manage and track required licenses, certifications, credentials, and renewals for clinical and non-clinical employees
- Conduct regular audits of personnel files, licensure, certifications, and required documentation; identify gaps and drive timely resolution
- Proactively monitor expirations and send reminders for licenses, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Partner with Credentialing and Compliance to resolve licensure or credentialing gaps
- Ensure all pre-hire, onboarding, and annual compliance documentation is collected, filed, and maintained appropriately
- Prepare compliance reports and audit documentation for internal and external reviews
- Serve as the primary administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS) from a compliance and tracking perspective
- Assign, track, and monitor required training for new hires and existing employees
- Run LMS compliance reports and follow up on overdue or incomplete training
- Partner with Training, Compliance, and leaders to ensure requirements align with regulatory and organizational standards
- Maintain accurate training records within HR systems and personnel files
- Support managers with employee relations matters, including performance documentation, coaching guidance, and corrective action documentation
- Draft and maintain corrective action and performance documentation ensuring consistency, compliance, and proper recordkeeping
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure employee relations actions align with policy and employment law
- Maintain confidential employee relations records and ensure proper documentation retention
- Provide first-line support to employees and leaders regarding benefits questions and standard HR processes; escalate complex issues as needed
- Support benefits administration processes including enrollment changes, qualifying life events, and open enrollment coordination (in partnership with broker/vendor/HR leadership)
- Coordinate and track leave of absence processes (including FMLA where applicable) and support ADA accommodation documentation in partnership with HR leadership
- Manage and administer workers’ compensation claims, including documentation, coordination with vendors, and tracking
- Support unemployment claims by preparing documentation, responding to claims, and assisting with hearings as needed
- Act as the primary onboarding partner from offer acceptance through completion of new employee training requirements
- Coordinate and track pre-hire requirements including background checks, I-9s, licensing/certifications, and onboarding paperwork
- Ensure onboarding documentation is completed accurately and on time; proactively address delays or gaps
- Partner with Recruiting, Hiring Managers, and Training teams to ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience
- Support orientation sessions and ensure onboarding and training records are properly documented
- Administer HR processes including status changes, job changes, employee updates, and leave tracking/updates
- Ensure HRIS data integrity and alignment with personnel files and compliance documentation
- Support payroll-impacting changes with accurate and timely documentation
- Assist with policy administration and ensure required acknowledgements are completed
- Respond to employee and leader inquiries related to HR processes, documentation, benefits/leaves, and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on compliance and operational execution
- Hands-on experience managing personnel files, audits, and compliance documentation
- Experience supporting employee relations documentation, performance processes, workers’ compensation, and unemployment
- Experience coordinating onboarding and pre-hire compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional documentation and follow-through
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience in healthcare, hospice, home health, or other regulated environments
- Experience managing clinical licensure and certification tracking
- LMS administration experience
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
