Position Overview:
The Bloom Policy and Accountable Care internship is designed for students looking to gain experience at a provider-led accountable care organization (ACO) and explore a future career in policy at an innovative provider organization. As a Policy and Accountable Care Intern at Bloom Healthcare, you’ll work closely with the population health and value-based care teams to advance important organizational initiatives.

Interns will have the opportunity to work on a quality improvement project with support from an assigned mentor, culminating in a presentation to Bloom senior leaders.  The Internship will run 10 weeks between June and August.  The internship will be remote, with the option to be in-person in Colorado.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze accountable care program data to identify quality improvement opportunities
  • Research complex accountable care model policies and brief senior leadership on findings
  • Compile quality performance data and prepare presentations for meetings with post-acute care network partners
  • Develop data and analysis to support decisions about managing and growing the Bloom ACO’s post-acute care preferred provider network
  • Monitor and report on implementation of Bloom ACO’s health equity plan
Qualifications:
  • Current student or recent graduate of a Master in Public Health, Master in Public Policy, or Master in Health Administration program.
  • At least one year of prior experience working in the healthcare field
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience analyzing data to inform decision making
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated to produce work that meets high standards.

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $22-$28 per hour with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
